A letter to God the Father

Envelopes tied with a ribbon

As you read this heartfelt letter that comes from meditating my own experiences and observations, I encourage you to make it your own by praying it. You could even add your own name at the very end if you choose. God our Father who is merciful will hear our prayers!

Dear God, Our Father,

May my smiles make visible Your heavenly presence for our people with disabilities.

Who art in heaven.

May I honor Your name by serving those in greatest need.

Hallowed be Thy name.

Let us together as one Body make Your kingdom present for all persons with disabilities.

Thy kingdom come.

May Your will be done in my brothers and sisters because of me.

Thy will be done.

May I be their hands and feet when needed as to accomplish Your will for them right now.

On earth.

Let us together as one Church pray for one another joining Your holy ones in Heaven.

As it is in Heaven.

May our people with disabilities receive Your daily bread from my working hands and giving heart.

Give us this day our daily bread.

May my stares and indifference towards the little ones be forgiven.

And forgive us our trespasses.

Let us forgive those who might treat us badly because we have chosen to stand up for those who cannot.

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

May I not fall into the temptation of assuming that I cannot do anything for my brothers and sisters with disabilities.

And lead us not into temptation.

May we all be delivered into Your merciful and loving hands.

But deliver us from evil.

Let us all as one be able to exclaim, “Amen!

Amen.

Trustingly,

Your Beloved
