Monday morning, Easter time, was one of those sweet moments melted down into a river of peaceful waters by the news of Pope Francis' passing. As my heart opened to accept his physical absence in our world, the light of faith in Our Resurrected Lord brought the certainty of His peace.

Below, I leave you some quotes on disAbilities by Pope Francis which have reassured, challenged, and inspired my life and ministry:

"We come to realize that we exist as an us and not a them whenever disability, whether temporary or due to natural aging, affects ourselves or someone for whom we care." Message for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 2022

"We are called to recognize in every person with disabilities, even complex and serious disabilities, a unique contribution to the common good through their original life stories." Message for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 2019

“It means changing our mentality a little and opening ourselves to the abilities and talents of these people who are differently abled, both in society as well as in the life of the Church.” December Prayer Intention 2023

Let us pray:

Holy Trinity, One True God, thank you for the life, courage, and guidance of Pope Francis. Amen.
